How to Choose Airmix Tip Sizes:

OEM Kremlin Airmix tips are described by a 5 digit part number like 09-114.

Fine Finish vs. Xtra Fine: Fine Finish tips ending in '4' (09-114) are standard, while Xtra Fine Finish ending in '2' (09-112) provide increased atomization, sometimes preferred for water-based or specialty finishes.  Tips ending in '7' (09-117) are asymetrical spray pattern tips.

Airmix Tip Size: Tip sizing is specified as two pairs of digits (example: 09-11x). These numbers help you choose the best balance of material flow and spray pattern. 

• Material Flow: The first pair of digits '09' indicate the caliber (orifice) size of the tip, in this case 0.33(mm) or 0.013(in).  A larger caliber (orifice) size allows faster flow of higher viscosity coatings.  Smaller sizes for stains/dyes, Medium sizes for clear finishes or lacquers, Large sizes for tinted paints and primers.  Using a larger caliber tip can help increase application rates of lower viscosity coatings.
• Spray Pattern: The second pair of digits '11' indicate the width of the spray pattern making reference to the Airmix Tip Size Chart.  In this case a 50 degree spray angle covering approximately a 9.8" (25cm) fan width when held 9.8" (25cm) from the workpiece.
